LOL.  I like it.  I noticed that there are, in fact, (gasp!) TWO pancakes on it's head!  (I know i'm being picky).  Two makes it double LOL LOL!

Actually it looks like its one pankcake but extra thick!  Also, I like the donation option.  It gives modesties on both ends.  I too think that games are overpriced, music as well.  If the cost was a drop in the bucket, I would be dropping more in that Big bucket.

Hmm I wonder how popular xbox would be without the hacker community.  I wonder how popular MS would be without the pirate community.  I read an article by MS a while ago stating that if it wasn't for piracy their os wouldn't be so wide spread or popular.  You think MS is hard on Piracy?  If this were true every new game that came out would have some new anti piracy protection and probably mess up your stuff.  Now Dave, he is hard on pirates.  Sending ecms that f* up your card.

This bleeding heart shit really pisses me off.

As long as you ask yourself this question, "Would I have bought it anyway if I couldn't have stolen it?"  If the answer is yes, then buy it.  Even if you have a pirated version.  Nobody loses money this way.

The problem with that is, once you can get things for free, the threshold for what you'll actually pay for goes up.

True, but I think that's a GREAT method...

Only pay for the games you would have paid for if you couldn't have pirated it...

think about it...

HALO -BUY
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic -BUY
Wakeboarding Unleashed -COPY IT

Honestly, you wouldn't have played Wakeboarding if you weren't able to pirate it, so the game comany isn't losing some "lost profit" and you aren't wasting money on a game you would have played ONCE....

Everyone wins! Show some support for the developers who work hard to make BADASS games like Halo, Rainbow Six 3, Star Wars: KOTOR, Deus Ex: Invisible War, etc.

Or, if you can't buy them ALL, at least pay for a couple of your absolute favorites...show some RESPECT. beerchug.gif

Also, the people who are involved in the mod community make up a very small percentage of the total owners of xboxes.  The majority of xbox owners are mainstream people who don't even know that this community exists.   You are also assuming that everyone who modded his or her xbox never buys any games.  Not true.  Most people do actually pay for games.  Just because you go to Blockbuster doesn't mean that everyone else does.  For example, how many xbox owners do you know that didn't buy Halo?

100% agree with you there!!! I know my friend Since I mod the xbox for him, all he do is go and rent games and copy them, BUt for me the reason I mod my xbox is to watch my Divx and play emulator games, and I do buy xbox games only the game I like, I have about 10-15 games since I have my Xbox, and About over 30 games of PS2 that I have bought!!!
So don't asume everyone here JUst rent games and copy them.

Remmeber moding is fun even know what ever it is you are moding, I love learning and doing new thing!!!! biggrin.gif  rolleyes.gif  beerchug.gif  pop.gif

XBOX sales are at record highs.  Why, because you can mod them and backup games.  This was the deciding factor for my purchase.  M$ should love modders.  I'm not advocating it but the simple fact is Piracy is good for XBOX sales.  You can expect M$ to invest less in gaming software and more in hardware.

Oh yeah, and rentals are up like a million percent too.  Developers, Manufacturers and Distributors are all getting a chunk of that change not to mention the retail outlets.

XBXOX sales have been steadily rising month after month for the last two years, not just recently.

I agree that videogames in general are WAY overpriced. But, I disagree with that method of pricing them...after all, movie makers who spend $50 million on the production of a movie still only charge $6 at the box office and $20 for the dvd as a movie that onnly cost $3 million to produce.

I think a lower "price of admission" should be applied to videogames. They are just TOO DAMN HIGH right now. $49.99?? Sure they used to be $69.99 and $79.99 (N64), but $49.99 is still too much.

All of the major videogame companies need to come together and decide on a price to sell videogames at for consoles. I believe $29.99 would be great for brand new games and $14.99 for "best seller" games. That's reasonable, and will sell a LOT more games than they are now.

Think about it, MS, Sony, & Nintendo...If you lower the price, MORE people will buy the games, ultimately letting you gain a larger $PROFIT$.

They're taking steps in the right direction by lowering the "standard" price from $59.99 to $49.99, but it needs to go down $20 more.

By the way, if you want to make a small testament to not paying high prices for games, check this site out...
