1.2 Jumpers Only On One Side?

i just got into tsop flashing and i noticed a thread that says you only have to solder points on ONE side of the 1.2 mobo.

is this tru? cuz if it is... it saves alot of time from removing the mobo.

and is it possible for other xbox versions to not remove the mobo?
