I wouldn't belive him, it would be impossible to switch the gpu du to drive issues (at the vary least) and if he thought removing the header pins with wire cutters was a good idea, no way in hell he could solder on memory chips. hey andystyle do you know what desloder wick is? Don't belive a word he says. and what the hell does "i already know the open slots on top are where the memory chips are on the bottom but i tried it and it worked" mean?

It means he upgraded his ram to 128mb (if he's not lying, altho i highly dbout if he screwed up 8 xbox's he's gona solder in 2 ram chips lol

I'm not gona flame u or anything, but u cant just take off a gpu, you need special tools

very sinsitive, its attached with like a ton of little tiny solder balls on teh botom

you'ld need an adapter to adapt the new chip to the current chip spot

many other thing

ooo, nvmd, i know what he thinkgs, he thinks the open pads are the other side of teh memory chip that's on the other side, like the pads go all the way thru or somehtign

but both are seperate sets of pads

y did Microsoft make them like that anyways, so peoplw would think that the pads were the other side of the chip?

blimmin numbnut

when someone makes a product, they want to make it as cheap as possible.

if m$ makes 100 million xbox PCB's, it's very cheap.

M$ may only make 10's of 1000's of Development xboxes, to design a dedicated PCB for them would make them cost a lot more,

so, they design the general PCB so it can be either a DEV Xbox, OR a normal xbox by just a few component changes.
that way both types of box can be pretty much assembled on the same production line, knocking costs down a fair bit!

so, there you have it, a normal xbox and a dev xbox are fundementally the same thing, more memory, different flash!

just for people who want to do the walmart trick. The walmart in my area actaully calls in the serial number of the xbox and makes sure it was sold from walmart. They check this shit now.

I returned one they called some company and confirmed it was a serial number from a xbox sold from walmart on the date that the reciept said..

Guys i read this whole post. This is such a joke. He's some HYPER ACTIVE 12 year old kid that refers to his wife beater alcoholic uncle as his "helper" in "adding more ram" with a "tongues soldering iron" (WTF!?). He's just trying to get a reaction out of anyone. dont bother giving him/her the time of day. Peace!
