yea, i flashed my tsop for the first time on sat. also.  right now the functionality of the free-x exploit isnt comparable to what a hacked bios can do.

You can use any bios as long as it is 256k.  The reason is because with the ver. 1.2 and 1.3, the total size of the tsop is 256, so you can't do a multi bios switch.

with a flashed TSOP you can disconnect your box with out the worry that the time will fuck up Xfree and your xbox. i disconnect my shit all the time and that would be a major no no with the xbox

well as the tsop 4976.02 in my ver 1.0 runs a hard drive unlocked.....

for a start it comes in very very handy to hot swap or pre-install evox

I might try the exploit but at end of the day I will probably try it and say nah & flash tsop or fit a easy to flash mod

The exploit is in it's early stages - very clever but no way like the DC-SB

The DC-SB was just that out of the box - no messing with pc ftp or mem cards

This exploit seems to me more like halfway between psx/ps2 cheat carts or AR2/magic boot discs - yup works but with some limitations

in the case of ps2 - nothing is gonna compare against a messiah - nuff said

also once peeps get their exploit up n running they may think of getting a bigger h/d in there which would need locking on a cloned xbox or pc perhaps

Well whilst you open the fucker up to install a bigger h/d then fit a proper bios in there

If ya not gonna go on LIVE then why lock a 120gb - be a bit of a pisser if ya xbox dies of natural causes in 12months time and ya got a 120gb paper weight in front of ya

I don't do LIVE hence my h/d's are unlocked except one with open bioxx that has just standard xbox h/d in there if I do ever decide to go LIVE

the rest are 50% tsop 50% mod and all drives are unlocked

think there isn't much difference in the install of say cheapmod/tsop or exploit - maybe even the first 2 are quicker/easier if ya gonna upgrade the h/d when you have chosen the modded/flashed/exploited method

Also tsop is a good fall back if ya mod chip install goes tits up
