If you do the 007 TSOP flash you won't lose your savegames - except for any AUF ones of course. I found the most reliable way is to save one AUF game, reboot then do the swap trick, delete the save game you saved before then do the load game.

IIRC The BIOS in the distribution of 007savewithraincoat is usually a 1Mb BIOS, so it depends which xbox version you have. You can easily modify it yourself to update Raincoat and the BIOS smile.gif

The actual reflashing is done via telnet, and so can be done from any OS with an IP stack and a telnet application - so yes, windows is fine smile.gif

ok. but i clearly red that if you do the partition trick you overwrite te old one...

i'm going to try to do it with linux. i had some experience with compiling kernels in the past, so i'm gonna give it a try mounting the xbox hd.
currently installing debian 3.0 r0
the hard part will be finding a kernel wit fatx support. linux is soooo badly documented. and the xbox linux site is also very unclear.
and this guide http://www.xbox-scen...-no-memcard.php
is also hard to follow...

if i get this to work, i'll write a nooby guide to this. no outdated links, pages that are totaly different from when the guide whas written and clear instructions smile.gif

but if someone can help me:
i see debian 3.0 r0 has kernel 2.2.20 as standart (i think, not done installing yet)
what kernel do i need and which files do i need from the xbox linux project?

i can get one, but i don't think the owner let me swap hd's.
just got xlinux to boot.
but i don't know which bios is in it.
if i can figure out what bios it is and how i can add my own bios (evox) it should be easy
