ok. but i clearly red that if you do the partition trick you overwrite te old one...
i'm going to try to do it with linux. i had some experience with compiling kernels in the past, so i'm gonna give it a try mounting the xbox hd.
currently installing debian 3.0 r0
the hard part will be finding a kernel wit fatx support. linux is soooo badly documented. and the xbox linux site is also very unclear.

if i get this to work, i'll write a nooby guide to this. no outdated links, pages that are totaly different from when the guide whas written and clear instructions

i see debian 3.0 r0 has kernel 2.2.20 as standart (i think, not done installing yet)
what kernel do i need and which files do i need from the xbox linux project?
