i did a 'focus' xbox with the line Flash = 0x0900,"Winbond - W49F020T",0x40000
as i was getting the 0x900 error and it flashed 4980 into itself all good right up to 'Completed' but now the xbox just frags, i installed LPC mods and still fragged, installed an Aladdin 64 and it still frags

Use windows defogger or conductive pin if you think you suck at soldering... also have some alchohal on the side just incase you need to remove the window defogger... when doing it with window defogger use a tooth pic. =)
I forgot to mention that you need a 256k bios for this TSOP, thanx BillGates138
to clear up some stuff about flashing the TSOP on 1.3 i am gonna run with you guys what i do in order to flash 1.3's
This method works with 1.2's as well.
i have now flashed 3x 1.3's already and many 1.2's
this is what i do for 1.3's
there are 3 solder points.
once you solder the below points make sure you are using raincoat 0.5 with a newer .conf file make sure it says
Flash = 0x20B0,"ST 29F002",0x40000 in it.
user posted image
solder both points that are marked in red!

then solder this point, there is some coding on the point so you may/must scarp is softly so get a good connections.
becare not to over do it.
if you get an error that its not erasing, you might be using an old version of raincoat.
and if it gives you an error about the TSOP type then you need to edit the raincoat.conf file.
many thanx to kobe and psi for pointing the way.

...ahh that's nice. never thought it would be that easy smile.gif.
but whats the second point on the top of the mainboard v.1.3 for , anyway ?

i belive everyone usually soldered the point near to R7D10 on the top and the point near C7R1 on the bottom ( which i personally hate the most wink.gif ) of the v1.2 mainboards.

so that makes me wondering, what is this second point on the top of the v1.3 mainboard for and what might happen if you DON'T solder it wink.gif

ps : thanks for that "stupid guide"  i love it wink.gif ...

I don't think you need the bottom piont so the v1.3 ?

some people that didnt short all 3 points killed there system. so this is only for the safe side...

This all worked for me, too.  I flashed a 1.3 today with 007withraincoat.  A couple things to add:

The top side and bottom side points are electrically the same.  Stick with the top, they are solder points.  The bottom points are actually vias, not made to be soldered.  That is why they are coated.  So there are only 2 points to solder, and they are both on the top side.

I have the Winbond chip.

007withEvox did not work for me.  I tried updating the evox.ini and it would still not work.

007withraincoat did work for me, with some updates.  I update the raincoat.conf file and updated raincoat to version .51.

One last thing, I had to add the files SaveImage.xbx and TitleImage.xbx to UDATA4541000d (why they did not include these in the 007withraincoat package I do not understand. I got them from the 007withevox package). If you do not do this, then 007AUF will not show up in the M$ dash memory manager.
