Can somebody tell me is there a easy way to soft mod your xbox using a xecuter 2.3b lite+ chip? A friend of mine did it with in like 10 minutes some how? Is there a way you can use the xecuter programer some how? Or does the 007 hack allow you to upgrade hard drive and play back ups? if not which exploit allows you to play back ups and large hd support?

I was thinking maybe install x2.3lite+ then connect programmer to chip protect switch on and flash the onboard tsop through the xecuter 2.3 lite + chip?

I dont want to do this and mess up anything so I was just asking for feedback.

I want to be able to do this with out opening the xbox because I guess my hands are to big for soldering on the motherboard any help would be appreciated.

OK I've read gobs of this particular thread and I have a couple questions of my own.  First off be aware that I am a "Noob" as you say.

Anywho, I flashed my 1.0 using a MechAssult crack from Mecheurasia w/ a 1MB 4983.06 Bios.  It seemed to be going fine... saved the old bios... flashed new bios... powered off. Booted up the first time and the light flashed green a couple times (no other colors at all) and then a solid green.   I get the couple green flashes and the solid green every time, no video, no sound, no nothing.

I read in here somewhere that this "flash TSOP with LPC" only works if there is a usable bios on the TSOP... how do I find out if there is anything on my TSOP.

ps. i've used the 3 wire trick to boot off the different parts of the 1MB bios with no results.

Please help.

why not use your xbit to ftp 007withraincoat.v7 save then get hold of 007 turn the chip off and use the exploit to flash the tsops? and if you dont have 007 just ftp a exploit to the box and use that....

the only real reason i can see to use this is to repair a broken tsops which you cant do unless you have a 1mb tsops with one good bios left and you could still solder a switch to the working bank then flash with a exploit and raincoat...

All I get is 0xFF as id's from the device with raincoat?

Is there a way around this with direct adressing from raincoat?

I have a 1.1 box with a screwed up TSOP.
There is a bios on the chip, but I am pretty sure it is corrupt (I flashed it with the switch in the on position...that may have messed it up), because my box is fragging on the first 512k, the last 512k, and on the whole 1024k chip.

There may be a working 256k, but I don't think that is likely since I flashed it with a 512k bios.

Anyways, I'm getting a chip to make my box functional again, and I wanted to know if a Duox2 would be able to flash my TSOP, and how I would do it.

If a Duox2 won't work, then what chip could I buy instead?

Thanks.

Not had any time at all to work on this - so we knocked this together last night to give budding coders something to have a crack at

pls no questions - if you now what you are doing all your answers will be on this page

This hasn't really been tested and may need adjusting - but it basically controls d0 and a15 similar to the matrix for flashing your tsop

TBH i dont know why this hasnt been released to the scene before now as the code is really really simple

CODE

;CONNECT PIC PIN 8 TO GROUND
;CONNECT PIC PIN 1 TO 5 VOLTS
;CONNECT PIC PIN 2 TO D0
;CONNECT PIC PIN 3 TO A15
;D0 WILL BE GROUND AT BOOT FOR HALF A SECOND THEN WILL GO OPEN
;A15 WILL BE GROUND AT BOOT AND STAY GROUND FOR 50 SECONDS

; CODE XBOX V1.555

some info that this code was based on (found on xboxhacker.net)

Programming the Onboard TSOP using a X2PRO or X2LITE.
This can be done and has been done on 1.0 boxes.

1) Connect TSOP Write lines (See matrix instructions)
2) Ground A15 (T1 on the matrix instructions)
3) Program X2Pro with EvoxMatrixTSOP bios
4) Turn power on and after 1/2 second turn DIP switch 4 off
5) Wait for EvolutionX to come up
6) Remove A15 Ground
7) Use EvolutionX to Flash a 1 meg bios to TSOP

Make sure your Evox xbe is named and placed somewhere that the EvoxMatrixTSOP bios can find it. I used a CD-RW with Slayer's 2.0 disk and Flashed 4974 onto the TSOP.

Look at the TSOP Flash Matrix Instructions floating around for pin locations etc.

This works with both the PRO and LITE but ONLY on 1.0 boxes until a EvoxMatrixTSOP bios is released for 1.1.

BTW, After you remove the A15 ground but before you flash the TSOP, if you use EvolutionX to backup your Box, you will have a copy of the orignal bios from your box. But you must do steps 1-6 first before you do the backup or you will just backup the X2.
