muhaha.gif Hi i just flashed my tsop i had a modchip in before and i wanted to piss of a friend cause he keeps frying xboxs when he trys to flash the tsop and i wanted to show him i can do it the first try and i did but now i am not sure whats better the tsop flash or haveing a modchip what are the pros and cons for flashing the tsop if any one could help with that it would be great

What does it mean if it boots MSDASH?  i can't get the TSOP to boot at all if I disable the chip, but if I boot from the chip and then turn it off I get MS?  Any suggestions?  Could I just use the 007 exploit to flash the TSOP now?

why do u need the evox matrix tsop bios to flash the tsop. And when u say it doesnt work with 1.1 do u mean the the bios itself wont work with 1.1 xboxes like it wont boot or u just cant flash tsop with a 1.1 with that file

i dono how old this post is but whatever

ive got a 1.3 xbox with a winbond tsop.. all was well i flashed it using audio exploit

it was good for months, i got a free x2.3lite, so i decided id flash the tsop back to retail
well, i didnt know which bios was retail for my xbox (used 4034).. its a 1.3 w/ sammy/wd hdd/winbond 256k tsop, 4920 dash

well after flash tsop frags

my mod works fine though!!!

anyways,... im reading up on this tsop flashing with x2 mods..

will it work for 1.3's? i mean the only difference is the flash file for evox and the fact the chips 256k...

or am i forced to only a homebrew?

so with this 12c508 chip and say a cheaplpc chip,  with the bios 4983.06  could you fix some completely ereased tsops?   did I understand this thread correctly?

Fix... possibly.
The technique used to flash the tsop booting from LPC, requires that some of the code in the tsop be intact. The xbox boots from the modchip, but it still requires that some of the code be 'loaded', well merely tested, from the tsop.
Thus, you for sure can flash the tsop, but you may not be able to fix it.

Give it a try and see if it works.

This is a very important distinction!

The "loader" vectors thru to the TSOP's kernel, so if your TSOP is hosed you'll be SOL -UNLESS- you did not get it all and can somehow enable say another bank (on the older Xboxes).

The evoxmatrixtsop is only for use on xbox 1.0-1.2 and only when you allow the modchip or 12c508 code that is part of this forum, control a15.

Thats because it thinks your trying to flash the x2.1pro !!!

Simply put, you WONT be able to fix your tsop using an LPC modchip. You can only flash the TSOP if the TSOP contents are intact. Once you fuck up the tsop you cant fix it with the LPC.

Only fix, 29wire modchip.

it's not repairable the code isn't that far yet.. you need to a get a xray3 modchip osmodz is in austrailia and could probly get you one fast.. or take a tsop off have it programed and reinstall it.. modchip would probly be easier for you though..

It is repairable, using a 29 wire modchip. Any will do, it doesnt have to be the one the guy above pointed out.

A temporary fix, use any lpc modchip. IT will run perfectly fine, but you just wont be able to use the tsop.

stinger151 the reason is that the trick used to flash the tsop when booting from the lpc requires that the tsop be intact, because the xbox must be able to boot from the tsop. It boots from LPC then a15 is adjusted and is done at the right time such that the xbox essentially loads the tsop but actually booted from the LPC.
Its not relaed to lframe.

First off, thank you SO much uber for this post... I was able to rescue a comatose XBox (wouldn't boot w/o a chip) and program the TSOP with my other X2.0 lite... all without spending a cent.

He's a hint to anyone who's a little iffy with the timing. Get a metronome (or use one online, I used this : http://www.metronomeonline.com/ . Set it to 120 (half sec a tic). Start tapping your foot with it, now turn on the xbox on one click, and take the jumper off/hit the switch on the next one. Worked perfectly for me. Human timing can be quite precise, just gotta get rhythm.

Good luck, this stuff does work, quite well.

Once you've installed the switches as indicated above and are booting from the last bank, can you use the MechAssault - Evox hack to flash?  Or is something more complicated required?
