Onboard Tsop Flashing
« on: November 26, 2002, 03:11:00 PM »

I have an X-ecuter V1 (10 pins plus wire, but NO disable - yet) and Evox installed on my HDD.   I have searched the forums and tutorials, but can't seem to find the answers.

I want to be able to run a bios that supports y-box or similar.  So my questions are as follows..

1. If I remove/disable my X-ecuter, will Evox still work.
2. If I remove/disable my X-ecuter and Evox still works, can I flash the onboard TSOP from the HDD?

If you remove your Xecuter, Evox or any unsigned code (that includes backups) will cease to run as that's being handled by your mod chip. If you've installed a switch to disable your chip, you would know what I'm talking about.

AFAIK, you can't flash your onboard TSOP with Xecuter, it's not a good idea anyway. I'd rather buy a new chip that is flashable rather than flash the onboard TSOP anytime. If something goes wrong, it's basically $199 against $40-$60.
