I'm trying to install a Xenium GOLD on a v1.6 xbox via LPC pin header. I got this chip and xbox from a friend who gave up, so I don't have any included instructions; I only have the chip, the pin header, and the d0/ground connector (and soldering experience from other xbox modchip installs).
The 1.6 LPC rebuild instructions are perfectly clear. [
here]
What is not clear is how I seat the GOLD chip once the pin header is installed.
(These quotes are from an expert user at the TeamXodus official forums)
QUOTE("Rabid1")
The Gold chip will sit on the adapter or pinheader with the same facing as the Ice, with the X of Xenium towards the back of the Xbox, that is the part you normally don't use much, just nasty cables and such, and on the forward most pins.
This isn't clear to me. In the picture below, which is correct, choice A or B?

The Xenium Gold and the Xenium Ice use all the same installls. ... Pinheader is the same as before per the version Xbox you have.
According to Rabid1 the GOLD uses the same installs as the ICE, but the instructions differ: the D0 point specified in the
Xenium install manual for v1.6 console [
here] specifies a different point from the
Xenium ICE guide [
here]. See below pic.

YES, the picture taken from the Total N00b's Guide is from the v1.6 install. Is it safe for me to use either of these two D0 points? I ask because the point listed in the "manual for v1.6 console" on my motherboard will be a very hard solder; I would prefer to use the point specified in the "Total N00b's Guide" if possible.
I have one final related question.
I would like to transplant a Xenium GOLD into my v1.4 xbox, which currently has an Xecuter 2.3b lite installed via pin header. I can easily splice the Xecuter's D0 wire connector that I already have installed to the Xenium's. As long as I flash the Xenium GOLD with a v1.4 compatible bios, will I be able to just sit it right there on the pin header that's been used with the X2.3b lite, or do I have to do any rebuilding for a v1.4?thanks
