The prob I have, is a mate wants an upgrade HDD from Retail to 80GB.

Problem is, the HDD has been unlocked, and now it cannot be locked back up. Why? Because it was unlocked using a softmod.

What I am proposing is getting a solderless adapter for the 1.6, and shoving MY Xenium on it, thus giving me the option to Lock it Via the Chip, or via Slayers.

Then, once this is done, I am hoping it can be upgraded using the Xenium Drive Upgrade wizard.

Hes not having my chip, however, just for this problem, I will temporarily be opening his up.

Once it is finished, because the Retail has the softmod, Im assuming the Bigger HDD will be softmodded too, once upgraded.

Then I can lock that and we will be ok.

If there are any easier ways to get this done, please help!

put his hdd in your xbox and his eeprom and softmod files use config magic to lock his xbox now it is locked with his xboxs eeprom simple and now you can keep his eeprom on your box or return yours back to normal-xlordx.good luck!remeber to back up YOUR eeprom.
