Error While Booting To Xos
« on: April 07, 2007, 09:21:00 PM »

I recently just bought a box. Played with it some and was getting ready to edit the bios since i need to do it before i put my new drive in my box. Although I entered the pass for the os and it did the count down and bam error 5. So i boot my box with the power button and go to xbmc and check the hd and low and behold its not locked. So my question is Do i have to lock it to get into the xos, or could i just use AID or Slayers to flash my bios? Then install my larger HD. THx B

Btw this is a stock Seagate HD that is Unlocked.

Error While Booting To Xos

I might be misunderstanding you but did you just ask if your hard drive needed to be locked in order to boot into the Xenium OS?  Cause you can definitly get into the OS with a locked or unlocked harddrive.  The OS has options for you to lock and unlock the harddrive so of course it works either way.  I've never gotten an error while booting into the OS though.

Now if your talking about the Xbox dash, which I wouldn't refer to as an OS since normally we say the OS is on the chip and things like XBMC Evox and the original xbox bubble screen are called dashboards, then you definitly do need your hard drive locked to get into there.  Unless your booting into it using evox, then u can use it when your hard drive is unlocked, hope this helped :-)
