Xenium 1.6 Solderless
« on: February 13, 2007, 10:18:00 PM »

Here is the situation.  A friend of mine bought a gold xenium solderless, he thought he was good and tried to solder it.  I think he used the old xenium ice manual to do it.  His box will not power up at all, no frags or nothing.  It just acts like their is no power.  It is a 1.6 version.  Is there anything that I can do to help him, or is it beyond repair?  Has anyone seen anything like this?

Just hit me back, if their is anything anyone can think of.

check all connections with everything. PSU, PSU connection to motherboard, check for burnt traces and/or lifted pads anywhere on the mobo or PSU. it has to be something with the PSU since its not getting power.

you do have the power cord plugged in right or the outlet he is using works? might sound like a dumb question but alot of ppl do it.

BTW why did he solder when he payed the money for a solderless set-up?

This is pretty common on a 1.6. Give this a try http://www.llamma.co...ox_no_power.htm
