Partion/bios Help 200gb Hdd
« on: February 09, 2007, 11:17:00 AM »

Trying to search thru these forums are hell sometimes with all that outdated stuff... I was looking for how to reclaim the unused space on my 200GB Maxtor HDD.   I am using Xenium Gold chip. XB v1.5, XBMC (Latest stable Ver), kernel 5101.   The bios I wanted to use was the iND-5003.67 so i tried their tool but couldnt find nothing to change  that was related to the hdd, then I tried to use the X2 5035vold512k bios and I tried to use XBtool to modifiy that one but  the program gave "unsupported kernal" error.  So now i am really confused to what bios to use, and how to partition my hdd properly so I can use the full 200GB instead of just 137 or what ever it is.  I have it formatted to have all the leftover space to be on the G: partition, but in media center it doesnt show up.  And yes... I already checked the .xml for G: support.

i would use the X2 bios and use X2ool to edit the bios to have everything left over in F. you do not need a G drive since the partition will not be over 256GB. unless you already have it formatted that way and then do F and G.

the spice guide in my sig shows you how to use X2ool.

LOL... I am sooo dumb....
how about since I like iND-bios so much... read the damn nfo file that tells me to use .06 for big F or .67 for F and G.   ThnX for your help.... I re-format the hd w XBHDM, then made sure if it even put a G: partition on the drive (which it didnt) so then i used the right bios... all is good... thanX for the reply tho.   I was so stumped why G wasnt showing and why every bios I used wouldnt show it either.   I was pretty sure there was a G part on the disk... I guess there wasnt and had to use the right bios.
