you can remove the solder it wont hurt anything but it was just best to leave it. but dont go and try to put it back in, just use the rivets. you might want to take those extra rivets out so they wont be lose inside the case.
check all the connections. even if your sure check them multiple times. it took me 6 or 7 times to get it right
and only use the black base. the chip goes on the farthest 12 pins on the adapter. also make sure you havent burnt/lifted traces or pads when you removed the solder. check for solder splashes

click my controls at the top of screen. then at the left side click edit signature under personal profile. the pic will require you to make one (or have someone do it for you in the GFX forum) and to have it hosted on a photobucket or something similar so you can use it as a URL. and text is just like posting a reply.
