Urgent Help Please V1.4 Solderless Xenium S.p.ice
« on: February 04, 2007, 06:25:00 AM »

I went through the xbox scene guide, and got to the part where it says it is either a 1.4 or a 1.5. I then got a Multi-meter, and hooked up the wires to the points shown on the ice guide. the multimeter showed a that a current went through the ports. (I then took the current reading as a positive ID of a v1.4 console). I cleaned the rivit holes with alcohol and a brush, and then placed the rivits inside the optimal rivit positions as showen on the guide, i placed the pogo stick on the LPC port, and hooked the gold plated wire onto the D0 point. My pogo stick looks different from the one on the guide (it has two extra pins, the black one not the blue one), but I hooked up the chip starting from points 1 and 2. The LED on the mod chip lights up, and the xbox reboots 3 times and FRAG's with no video/sound output. I have several xenium S.P.ICE mod chips, so i know it is not a faulty mod chip (i tested with other mod chips). Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
thanks

a brush? thats a little rough to be using on the mobo. could have possibly lifted traces/pads. check for that. also try a recovery.

it says to use a brush in the sp install guide

mine did that earlier when i was upgrading the hdd

the d0 wire had popped ouf of the template

also power on with the chip not on the adapter and all 5 lights should light up

if not position the wire next to theoff led in the hole properly

i am only using a soft ended paint brush with like a 1 mm tip, and not being rough on it, i cant see any lifted traces? ive tried using a different S.P. adaptor and a different mod chip and it still doesnt work? not using the L adaptor its a version 1.4 xbox, not 1.6 so it doesnt use the LED's. It wouldnt FRAG if the D0 isnt connected (if i disconect the D0 it doesnt FRAG but only runs through to MSDASH)

if it runs through the MS dash while it is not connected that is a good sign. that means it has something to do with your connections with the adaptor (use the black base only) and the d0 point. check all of the connections. take the black base off and reset it. make the chip is on the closest 12 pins to the screw.

I have tried placing rivets in every hole in the LPC, and re-seated the S.P. adaptor about 40 times, i seat the mod chip on the 12 pins furthest away from the screw and the LED on the chip lights up. When i boot up with the mod chip on the pins closest to the screw it does a Orange flashing front light on the front of the xbox, and the LED on the mod chip doesnt even light up, so i know it is the 12 pints furthest away from the screw.

you dont need to use the sp adaptor (white curved piece) with a v1.4. just the black base. make sure the "X" in Xenium is towards the back of the xbox. try a recovery. and make all the pogo pins on the adapter are seated correctly. it took me like 6 or 7 times to them just right.

I am not using the white L unit just the black pogo stick, how do i make sure that they are seated just right? i swear i have tried like 30 or 40 times, and i have 4 xenium ice mod chips and have tested 2 of them, which neither worked.

does the chip and adaptor you are trying to install work? have you tried it in another xbox? if you mentioned this before, sorry. the only way you know is when it is working. also make sure the d0 is secure as well.

doesn't surprise me.

i don't see how you can not be getting this to work...

take out the rivets. those things are worthless.

the rivets are good if you dont already have solder in the LPC holes.
