Changing The Color Of The Boot Screen In Evox
« on: January 29, 2007, 08:11:00 AM »

I want to change from that ugly green X and text to a color I like. I wondered how I can go about accomplishing this task. Also I wouldn't mind changing the boot sounds either.

Thanks for all your help in advance,

If you are softmodded you are stuck with what you have.

If you have a mod chip you can change the settings.

I have the Xenium SP Ice chip installed, and Slayer Disc software, but don't see any setting to allow that kind of change?
do I need a certain software? I tried XBtool but couldn't figure out how to use it.

Do a search here on "modify bios" or "change flubber".

I haven't done it so I can't tell you if Xbtool is the right software.

You would have better luck in the mod chip section. I am moving this post there.

My current skin tells me bios: unknown Kernal: 1.00.5838.01  and evox: +3935? Even ran Xbox Bios Checker 4.0b and it says unknown as well. Whatever it takes to get some help. I did find my old disc I used when i moded it originally it has the m8.bin, m8_16.bin and m8plus_16.bin on it. Not that I can remember which one I used mind you but i think they are all the same pretty much.

FTP into your xbox and find the bin file. that will tell you where what it is.

Just to help people I suggest getting the M8plus_16.bin file. load that into EVtool after you make your changes resave. Exit EVtool. Then FTP the newly changed file to a folder on your HD and remember where you stuck it. Then boot xbox if you have a xenium chip instead of loading the bios choose add. Go find it on your drive add name and set LED color if you like. then boot with that one to see your color changes!!!! Have Fun!!
