Changing Modchips
« on: December 21, 2006, 07:28:00 AM »

I installed a Xenium S.P.I.C.E. modchip 2years ago.

I just bought a Xenium Gold 24k modchip and installed it, actually I just took the old S.P.I.C.E. off and put the new Xenium Gold one on the same adapter.

[font="Courier"]I popped in a game and clicked the "Launch Menu" and it displays "Add New Item". By switching the modchip did I erase the Slayers Evox dashboard?

Do I have to reinstall Slayers Evox?

you should just be able to switch them out.

and why are you putting in a game and then hitting "launch menu" then clicking "add new item"?

After I installed the Xenium Gold chip and powered on the xbox, it went to the Xenium Gold splash screen.

I then clicked on the Launch Menu to boot to Slayers Evox dashboard. Slayers Evox wasn't there. It would only boot to the retail Microsoft splash screen.

Long story short I figured it out, and xbox is purring like a kitten. I actually restored the Xenium Gold from a backup on the xbox "C" drive.

all you needed to do was flash a bios onto the chip. thats all you have to do when swapping chips.

good to hear its all good to go.
