Here's the backstory...

I have an older Xenium chip and while I was playing games I was getting a lot of "the disk you are using is damaged...etc" messages mid game.  Also while watching video on XBMC it would stop the video and go back to the dash.  My friend suggestd maybe my chip was dying (I didn't know such a thing was possible) and he gave me another chip that he had an extra of (nice guy).  Its the same Xenium chip.

I have swapped chips and made sure my solders were good, which they appear to be, and did a recovery on the chip, which seemed to go alright.  When I hit the power button the box boots to the origianal MS dash even though the led on the chip lights up.  When I hit the eject button to boot it does boot to the Xenium dash but when I go to the launch menu to launch any other dash in the menu (XBMC, Avalaunch, Evox) it just boots to the MS dash again.

Sorry for the long story but I wanted to give a thorough explaination.  Any ideas?
