Can't Seem To Get Games To Boot From Hd

use the appropiate X2 5035 bios depending on your xbox version. x2_5035_v16plus_512k.bin if your xbox is version 1.6 or 1.6b. use the x2_5035_vold_512k.bin if your xbox is version 1.0-1.5.

does the disc work from the DVD drive? if it doesnt there is probably something wrong with the discs and/or DVD drive.

for now since it is a 1.4 get X2.4983.06 you won't have to mess with the ini file. Then if you like it you can take your time and try the 5035 after you get every thing working. 4983 only takes up 256k on the flash memory, isn't buggy like M8 and has live blocking.

i would get the x2_5035. it has more options and live blocking (doesnt allow you to access live with the modchip on so you wont get banned) plus the .ini allows you to customize the xbox a little bit. use x2_5035_vold_512k.bin since you have a v1.4. you will have to patch the bios with a tool like x2 config maker if you are using a HDD larger than 137GB. once patched load the bios to C drive and then flash from the XOS menu.

use X2ool instead; i found its easier to use. this is for your PC, not the xbox.

once you have it open it up (it will be the .exe file in the winrar). once open go to the "Misc" tab at the top. click "open rom" under the the LBA48 mode section. find the bios .bin file. (x2_5035_vold_512k.bin) and click open. then either select partition 6 to 137GB/partition 7 gets rest (for HDDs bigger than 250GB) or partition 6 takes rest of drive. click "save ROM" and save the bios file under a different name so you know which bios file is patched. then transfer  the patched bios to your xbox. you can also edit the .ini file with this program(optional).

OOPs! Realized I had to clear the flash first. Now it's loaded but still having the same problems as before. Games won't launch from the DVD or from file manager. Trying DVD2XBOX now but not confident. Very frustrating guys.

DVD2XBOX didn't work either.

Something similar is happening to me, been trying to fix it all day long so now here I am asking for help. Here we go

Xbox 1.0
Xenium ICE with 2.3.1
using evoxm8 or xecuter 2 5035 bioses
40gb hd

Everything worked fine till today. It's been a while since I got me some new games and now, it seems they just won't work. I got nhl 2k7, nhl 07, madden 07, need for speed hot pursuit 2, none of them works. I try to start them in avalaunch, "starting X game", then the screen turns black for a couple of seconds then it reboots avalaunch. Same thing with xbmc.

First thing I did is clear the cache, did it with the xenium OS, did it with avalaunch file manager, didn't do a thing. Checked for IGR, it's set to off. Tried running the games from either the dvd or the hd, same thing happens. Parental lock is off, region is ok... tried about everything and I'm out of ideas here  uhh.gif

Help!  sad.gif

ok since you got the bios working im thinking the DVD drive is going bad. if it cant read games properly it cant put them on the HDD properly. launch the retail kernal and try playing the game from the DVD drive. if it doesnt your DVD drvie is probably toast. to get retail kernal add new item to the launch menu. then select TSOP. then select the LED color you want. then launch it and do things above.

NOTE: back up EEPROM and stock HDD before you do anything. (back HDD via FTP to PC)

maybe your HDD is gone as well. did you try DVD2xbox and FTP. if so maybe they are both going. how old are they and what are some specs on them (size, brand, etc.)

Don't think that will work for me as the same games that won't play from the HD won't play from the optical drive. I also swapped HDs and had the same issue. I either have a modchip or mboard issue...me thinks! Never heard of the xboxhdm app so def thanks for that!

if the same games do not work from the HDD as well as the DVD drive then it is prolly the discs. try the discs in another xbox to check.

QUOTE(pcoliver @ Oct 4 2006, 03:00 AM) View Post

Is there anything I can try/do to the modchip? Recovery, etc? This was my last mod chip so don't have another handy.

Like I said before the chip has nothing to do with games once the bios has launched. If the problem was the chip you would see it in either the OS or when you added or launch a bios. Once the bios is launched it is virtually the same as the tso[, the chip is off. But it could possible be the install, although usually it won't let you get as far as a dash.  If this is a soldered install remove the chip and look very carefully for even the tiniest soldersplash or overflow on both sides of the motherboard. If it is solderless remove and clean the adapter and look under the motherboard to make sure nothing could have got underneath that might be causing a problem.

Also an E: partition can corrupt using an autoinstaller or the upgrade wizard. I know you have reformatted the drive once, but have you backed up E: then reformatted it and tried it with a new partition without copyig anything back. I looked back in the post and didn't see you had, but I want to make sure.

The only other thing I have come across was the network settings in the OS were not releasing and when Live enable games were loading it would hang. But one of the othe symptoms was the FTP did not work in the dash. Didn't you say you could FTP? But you could try turnig off the Xenium network and see what happens, but I doubt this is it.
