i had trouble with the XOS formatting my 250GB seagate HD to. i had to resort to xboxhdm, which does an awesome job btw, but u think the new XOS would work correctly with all HDs.  the upgrade wizard would report an error. it will unlock and lock it, and clear cache spaces but thats about it.  i am using the Gold chip.

xboxhdm should work with any brand....just make sure u have it on primary master.

no actually u can get it off the internet....hold on i will get u some links....bare with me as i have 56k

EDIT: tut and download link   make sure u use both G and F drives
