How To Recover Myxenium Spice
« on: April 24, 2006, 06:36:00 AM »

I bought an xbox 1.0 with xenium spice solderless chip on it. It worked fine. I took to India where the system is PAL. I started the xbox, it loaded the xenium OS and then when I tried to load the X2 bios it gave me the "contact customer support" error. Thinking it was a region problem, I changed everything in the OS to PAL(game region, dvd region and one more option). After that I turned it on and it started fragging, 3 boots and then flashing red/green, the light on the chip was red. After trying different slots on the pin header, now the light has turned into a bluish white light but still the eject button flashes red/green. Is there any way to recover the chip or is the xbox dead.

These settings should have been changed in your dash, not the OS, that was what was giving you the error.

Definitely not good. You never place you chip on alternate pins. White/blue light usually mean a fried chip. You can try reseating the adapter and d0 but if this is consistent then the chip is dead. What happens if you put the chip in recovery mode?

when i switch to recovery mode the xbox tries to boot directly into the msdash and frags witht he customer support error. its only giving blue white light now, so I guess the chip's gone. What steps can I do to prevent the xbox from becoming a $200 junk

Well you would need another chip so you can lock your HD, assuming that is the error you are getting.

but let me get this straight, you are seeing the MS dash when the switch on the chip is NOT covering the little black marker?

what happens if you remove the adapter and the chip and boot?

it shows the green flubber thingy and then shows the error screen and says to contact customer support. Same thing happens when I put the switch on the chip to recovery mode. Right now there is no way to make anything playable on the box.

does the call customer suport give you an error code in the top left corner?

Sounds like you need a new chip then your going to have to somehow recover your EEPROM, which by the sounds of it was corrupted when you changed the video settings.
