Hey guys, is there anyway to check to see if my chips is dead? It all started last week, i wouldn't get video on boot occationally. Then finally while trying to boot an N64 emulator it just shut off and when i turned it on it booted 3x and fraged. The chips in there snug i just checked, and the xbox works fine with the chip out (i think, i have the hdd unlocked so i get an error 5).
Another weird thing is i just switched the chip into recovery mode and when i boot it up i get no video and the xenium led is red, while the front xbox led is flashing green. Any advice?
since you got the error 05, at least that means that your retail MS bios launched ok. Also, the fact that you're getting a red Xenium LED suggests that your chip isn't actually dead.
Now, the LED profiles you described sounds like it is actually a problem with the Xenium OS and that a recovery is most likely what you need.
when you performed the recovery, was it from the HDD or CD/DVD-R? if from harddrive are you sure you have a recovery.bin file in the root of yout E drive? Also, if you haven't tried CD/DVD-R I'd give that a go.
