Solderless Xenium Ice Worked Fine For A Year
« on: March 18, 2006, 02:26:00 PM »

I have a xenium ice solderless.  It has worked great for some time now.  I just turned it on today and it started fragging red and green. Which has happened before.  I simply re-install the solderless adapter and we are back up an running.  This time that is not the case.  I have tried over and over again to re install the adapter.  I even added solder to one of the pinheader holes that seemed to need it.  When I flip the switch on the chip and turn the box on.  It flashes orange for a while then says...HALT!!!  And then the eject light stays red.  I'm lost.  Please help!!!

Your chip is fine, but the OS is currupt and is in need of reflashing. Burn a recovery disc using the latest recovery iso from www.teamxodus.com and use it to reflash the OS (The screen that says HALT! is recovery mode wink.gif)

Thank you appleguru.  I will try that asap.  On another note I would like to add a question to this situation.  Along with my chip fragging the hdd is not working.  I put it into my 1.6 x3ce and nothing, I put it into my 1.6b x2.6ce and still nothing.  I'm not sure when or how this all happened but lastnight everything was working right and today my os on xenium is messed up as you have already mentioned and my hdd is screwed as well.  I dropped this hdd into my pc and i couldn't even boot my pc.  I'm guessing it may be locked.  I have never dealt with a locked drive before.  Did lightning strike my box while i slept lastnight or what appleguru?  Hey bro thanks for the help thus far.  I will try reflashing the os.  Maybe someday when I grow up I can help people just like me.  I have learned much through xbox scene in the past year and for that i am very thankful.

No, chances are your HDD is just fine and is acting that way in all your other devices because it is indeed locked. (A locked HDD can only be used in the machine it is locked to)... So.. just get the OS reflashed to your chip and you'll be good to go.
