It is supposed to be a "limited edition" sort of thing.  I lot of people enjoy having stuff like that. I mean, you might as well say: "why the f*ck would anyone want a green halo LE xbox?"

If you know what you're doing, the software on the chip does not suck. get over yourself.

The Xenium was great when it first came out, but now Xodus is getting lazy.  The matrix and chamelion chips were fucking amazing in their times, some of the best chips. (Hell, in my primary box i still use my Chamelion LE)  Now, Xodus is at the bottom of the food-chain.  They are relying on gimmicks to increase sales.  The gold has no advantage what-so-ever except to look pretty.  Gold does has an advantage in electronics as it's a better conductor, but as the old saying goes "A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link" and i'm guessing it's using a standard lead based solder, so it will be like every other chip.  Also, size wise, that's easy. Just shorten the traces and scrunch it all together.  Nothing but gimmicks to raise sales.

i stopped defending xodus a while ago.  but some people are just griping.  its not like there isnt any other chip maker that has simply recolored their chip, and called it an le or se and what not.  at most, they add maybe a bug fix or simple feature that doesnt revolutionize anything.  i dont call it a negative or anything, just sales tactics.  cars do it.  music does it.  and so on.  

and before anyone assumes i'm pointing out 1 chip maker in particular, i'm not.  i believe they've all done it in one way or another.  

gripe about lack of updates in a year.  or broken promises.  but acting like they're lame for recoloring is weak.  

there are many more justifiable gripes.

truer words were never spoken.  it is a celebration thing.  so let them have their day, they're still int he scene and hopefully they're working ont he xbox 360 scene also.

In defence of Xodus why is it that you all have to complain so much ?
For someone about to install a new mod chip i see the gold as a really good choice. Its a product made by a leading company in its field and shows that the makers believe they have perfected thier product. To keep changing it now would only over complicate the chip . At least they didn't release a brand new all singing all dancing new multi bank chip with new OS and external connections with no purpose that won't even load a Bios like the SpiderGX.
If it aint broke don't fix it.
So why not show off a little, 24K limited editions, are fine. my only point is why stop making the ICE alltogether ?

Where is the dam Quick Solder? I personally hate de-soldering the pin head, and with the xenium/ice and Smartxx makes it a 10000x easier.

sounds like he might mean de-solder the lpc, on those boxes that have the lpc filled.  which yes, is a pain.  though if you have the right tool, not so bad.

ive got a gold on backorder i sent my spider gx back when i couldnt get it to load any bioses and when i finally did it wouldnt load apps and so forth...i thought it was a good chip had all the bells and whistles but in the end it left me feeling like a three legged cat trying to bury a turd on a frozen pond...mabey the gold chip is xodus way of saying good buy to the xbox 1 not a bad chip and going out with style the best they could before moving on to 360...face it this might be one of the last chips out for xbox1 we are offically a dying breed us orginal xbox modders

who'd you get your spider from?  i got a buddy who got one and cant get it to work to save his soul.  he wants to send it back as well but isnt sure if he can.  i think he ordered from divineo.  if he can, i'm gonna try and talk him into a gold if they hit the shelves soon.  if not he'll go x3.
