Only Retail Controllers Work At Xenium Os
« on: January 13, 2006, 09:05:00 PM »

modded my box a while back, and never really cared, but the 3rd party controllers dont work at the xenium os menu.  kind a of a pain cuz the only retail m$ controller i have is the one that came with my system YEARS ago (1.0 box) and ive had to resolder it several times.. buttons stick and tape is hanging off the thing... anyway kinda a pain i have to unplug all 3rd party controllers, plug in old POS controller, then boot to avalaunch.. then all the controllers work fine.

the xenium OS wont work if i have any 3rd part controllers plugged in along with the retail controller..

is this common?> i dont have the newest xenium os, i read around, but dunno if they fix that problem, or if it is a common problem.

and the dvd drive in my box sucks, so its hard to get iso's to read. ... dont know if i have to use iso to update os or can i ftp..

blah.  any advice would help.

Some 3rd party controllers don't work, particularly wireless. Some people have had luck by repeatedly hitting a button to boot up. I don't know if any changes were made that would effect 3rd party controllers, but you can ftp the recovery.bin to e: and give it a shot.

To use XeniumOS, I use my PlayStation 2 wireless controller with PS2toXbox adapter, and then when I boot to GentooX I need to switch to a 3rd Party Airflo controller. Annoying!

Try disconnecting all the orther controllers because the chips menu only works well with 1 controller in.

false....the problem only exists with some 3rd party controlers, i have 2 S-type controlers in at all times, and both work just fine
