Please help Xenium ice install xbox 1.4

This is my first try to install a mod to my xbox and I am having some problems.

I am trying to do a solderless install on a xbox version 1.4 or 1.5 not sure do not have the machine to test which one it is acurate.  I figure it was 1.4 since the chip at least turns red.  

Well this is was going on the xbox turns on it flashes red and greed three times while turning off and the on and then it will stay green but the xenium chip just stays solid red.  

I don't know what to do now the little switch which is recovery I have tried both side and I just get the same result.

I took out the chip and was able to boot the xbox just fine so my xbox is not fried yet.  

Now I am just lost on what to do,  I got the xenium ice chip with the black solderless adapter.  first time I put it in I put the chip on the farthest to the screw and it did not turn on and then I put it close to the screw and it did not.  

Not sure if that could have damaged the chip hope it didn't.

Well I was thinking on trying to solder it but not sure what specifically I need to buy and where to get it.
what is the machine I need to figure out if my xbox is version 1.5 or 1.4
