Hdd Upgrade 250gb To 400gb. Help Please
« on: December 30, 2005, 03:45:00 AM »

I just upgraded the HDD in my V1 xbox from a WD 250GB drive to a Seagate 400GB drive.  I used the
Xenium HDD upgrade wizard and everything appeared to be OK.  The 250GB drive was set to have F and
G partitions.  I selecte the F and G option in the wizard.  I set the 400GB drive to cable select and closed the box.  Everything booted just fine and appeared to be in working order.  I am using the Evox dash.  When I went to the launch (games) section none of the game backups that were on the original drive showed up.  I then went into DVD2XBOX to see if I could find the games there.  They all showed up in the game list section.  They did not show up in the proper drives when I was exploring the individual drives.  I then checked the settings section and the G partition was set to NO.  I changed it to YES and exited DVD2XBOX.  Still not games in the launch menue.  I then checked the settings section of the Evox dash and I showed my G drive as 0 space.  I replaced the original 250GB drive and everything there is working just fine. The DVD2Xbox setting was set to YES for G and the Evox info showed drove space under the G drive.  I can not figure out why those settings changed from one drive to the next when the program makes an exact copy of the old drive. Any help with this would be most appreciated!! I am sure that I just missed something silly, but I cannot figure out what it is!
Also whenever I try to load a game from DVD2XBOX game list, it sets me back to the Evox dash.

Thanks in advance,

I believe that dvd2xbox retains a list of games which it has scanned.  The list you are seeing is likely leftover from the old HDD.  In dvd2xbox there is an option to rescan the HDD and refresh the games list.

Thank you for the advice.  This should help me with the backups.  I am still confused with the G drive showing as 0 space in the Evox settings.  Any insight on this problem would be most helpful.

Thanks again,

Ok now I have XBpartitioner... But I am not sure how to get it to work.  Do you place the .xbe file on the C: drive of the xbox and select it using a browser?  I am a noob at this and just want to get my brother's box back up and running again.

Thanks,
