V1 Box Won't Turn On, Chip Flashes Red Once, No Frag No Nothing?

My hard drive was giving me a hard time so I put in a new on, did the same thing I've done on a hundred other xboxes, now when I go to turn the xbox on it won't work... nothing... the led on the xenium chip flashes once but nothing else, no frag, nothing. It has been ages since I looked at a modded xbox so I'm feeling a little lost... any help?
