Someone gave me a 1.6 xbox with a dead hard drive.  I have a ICE chip in another xbox.  I have done the LPC rebuild and filled all holes with solder.  My question is, can I place my solderless adaptor(not SP) over the filled in solder holes and attach the D0 wire to the gold wire and have the chip work?  Or is the layout different for 1.6?  I know the preferred method is to use the pin header, but I can't for the life of me find where I put it when the original chip came.  My intention is to put the chip in, get a hard drive working, do a soft mod and then move the chip back to my other xbox.  Will this work?  I have read and read, but did not find anyone trying to do what I am doing.  Thanks in advance.

I think you will need the SP adapter......it was designed for a "solderless" install for the v1.6 box, unless you can find the LPC rebuild or whatever. As for the softmod I have no idea.....sorry.
