V1.1 Xbox / S.p. Ice Solderless Frag
« on: December 15, 2005, 09:57:00 AM »

I just bought a S.P. Ice solderless chip for my version 1.1 Xbox and can't get it to work. I have been reading every post in these forums about what I should do and still nothing. You mainly said that the chip needed to be re-adjusted on the LPC points or cleaned. I have tried adjusting the adapter like 20 times and have cleaned the LPC points with rubbing alcohol and even tried to scape away some of the solder to give it a better connection since the holes on the LPC are filled with it. All I get is a RED light on the chip and the xbox boots up 2 times and then frags with the eject button RED/GREEN with no a/v. I even tried switching the switch on the chip to see if that works and it didn't. The only other thing I had the xbox do was when it booted up with the chip a couple times would give a 07 error code saying my xbox needs service. Then I took chip out and the xbox would boot up in normal mode perfectly fine. Any ideas?? I really want to get this working. I know the D0 is in ok cause I hear the click and it stays in. I just don't know why I can't even get to a recovery screen like some other people can? Please Help. Thanks in advance.

Are you using just the black solderless adapter or are you trying to use the adapter with the 5 red LED's?

You only need the black solderless adapter for a v1.1 box. I would double check the DO and make sure you have the correct hole.

Yeah I am using the black adapter and the D0 is in the right hole. I was looking at the install manual as I did it..but couldn't get it up and working. I worked on it for like 1 whole day straight. Now I'm not sure if I should just pay someone to install it or just softmod it. I wish I could fix it myself, but it seems like I'm never gonna get the Adapter to sit right on the LPC. Any ideas what else to do?
