The Order Of Operation?
« on: December 11, 2005, 03:44:00 PM »

This is what I usually do:

1) Open box and install chip.
2) Verify you can get to the Xenium menu. (Double check step 1 if you can't get the menu up).
3) Setup "Retail Bios" and verify operation....box boots up like normal.
4) Setup modded bios, in your situation....the Evox M8+ (Evox M8+_16 ??)
5) Install new HDD.
6) Put slayers disk in and run the setup.
7) enjoy!!

Just try it and see what happens....post any problems you encounter and I am sure you will get the help you need.

Quick Question.  After flashing with the modded bios using the xenium menu, can i then install Slayers.   I would rather use it to install my new 160GB HD (less problems)?  Also, do I need to flash with the modded bios again after loading Slayers, or will the first flash from the xenium menu work (before new HD install)?  Thanks

Zep25,

After you flash the chip with your modded bios than your box will not read unsigned code......hence the Slayer's disk should work now. Use Slayers v2.6 and it should be fine. I usually use it to configure the HD and than I go back and just delete the stuff I do not want.

You should not have to re-flash the bios again, the first time is enough.
