no...the adapter actually sits better when the lpc has solder in the holes.

It's a waste of time to desolder the lpc holes.  Trust me, just take your time and make sure the adapter is flush and TIGHT against the mobo.  The most important thing to remember is that you CANNOT strip the screwhole in the adapter.
