In Depth Noobie Question
« on: December 08, 2005, 09:09:00 AM »

Alrite after reading the ice guide on xodus's site. Yes I have read it. So dont point me towards it. I took up the fun job of installing my S.P. Ice on my version 1.4 box. The box incase you missed it is 1.4. When I installed it with the solderless adaptor to the best of my ability Ive notice there are more freakn lpc holes in the board then the adaptor will hook into. I speak of the top left hole that does not exist on the adaptor but does on the mother board. However I dont know much about the subject So ill asume that you dont need this pin. Which brings me to the next ?. When you hook the adaptor to the lpc holes there are 8 pins running up the right side and 7 up the left. The chip has only 2 columns of 6. So which pins is it supposto lock into? The only pins that it gets a response from (when I say response I mean the red led lights up) Is the 6 consecutive pins comeing from the adaptor closest to the front of the box. When I hook it up like this though. I have a Boot with green light shut down (in 2 sec.) Boot again with green ligh shut down in (2 sec.) and then a boot with a flashing red green light on the xbox. Through that hole process the xenium chip led stays red the hole time. Ive checked the D0 and cleaned with with alcohol. I have the right D0 hole acording to the SP ice install guid. So what is my problem? and is the chip supposto connect to the consecutive 6 holes or go up into the one where there is not a pin on the left but is one on the right? If known can help me out for awhile Ill post pics and be more specific If I need. If any information is need please ask. But I think Ive covered everything.
