the dash files sit on the HDD
you need to flash a bios and then add dash files afterwards

read the Iceguide for more info on modding the xbox

Thank you pezzar,

Ill reinstall the chip again and see how i get it to work. I thought i read that when u install the chip and boot ur xbox it would give u the Xenium OS immediatly without booting MS Dash. My Xbox boots the MS Dash. I will retry again i will first read the iceguide again guess i got mixed up with the SPICE guide and hope this time i get some more success on the chip.

aaahh i see. yes the xenium os is on the chip by default. if the chip is installed correctly then the OS will boot when powering up

the fact ur booting to the M$ dash means there is a problem the the D0 connection, recheck that and try again. clean the area on the motherboard around the D0 with a fibre glass prep pen or similar tool

If you want to see the xenium os you have to start up the xbox using the eject button.

Yep i read that in the manuals and it doesn't do anything at all. No OS nothing doesn't matter what button i used. I tried several things i read but accept for the nice lights in my xbox it doesn't do anything. Think it is broke as it doesn't even seem to start. But i've softmodded the box and did an HDD upgrade so i'll leave it. Maybe in the near future i'll buy an new one to test but will see.

Again thanx all for the input.

Ehm well im quite sure i have an V1.1 and not V1.6.

So the install was quite easy as i only needed the d0 point. So it should work, as it does not and i already had a few tries with it i think it is broke.

The led on the chip lights up purple btw. Tried several time and it just doesnt seem to work.

on a v1.1 in recovery mode you should see a splash screen, do you see this

when running recovery where are you booting the recovery.bin file from

burn it to a dvd-r and put the disk in the dvd drive

Ok will do.

But i my xbox doesnt really react any differen ton the chip. It boots as usual no Xenium os or anything not flashing screen, nothing. It just boots to ms dash.

I am not booting any file? I mean as i didn't get to see Xenium os my thoughts were maybe it's broke? Where can i get this bin file to try it out?
