If you go to eeprom tools, what does it say? Also.. you didn't lock your HDD with another xbox did you?

Well.. for your hdd situation.. you should have the stock HDD in the hdd's place, jumpered to cable select or master.. and you should have the new hdd in the dvd's place, jumpered to slave.

The pins on the back of the HDD next to the IDE plug are the jumpers.. they should look something like this:

As for the jumper settings.. there should be a little white or black "jumper" that will be connecting two of the 6 jumper pins. You need to move the jumper to the correct pins smile.gif

They differ by HDD model/brand though; so refer to your drive's label and/or bottom.

ok still says error when i try it. i need to download the lates ersion of the os but not sure how to do it. i know where to download it butn not sure how to put it on a cd(using nero burner) or i dont know to connect my xbox to my pc using a router(i tried realind the instructons but dont know how to do a couple of things like fixing the NIC amd dont know how to check the connection) please do not referme to the manual.
