Definitely the alignment.  Your only options are to keep trying to allign it, solder it, or pay someone to solder it for you.

Could be a dead chip.. try recovery mode though (Slide the black switch on the chip over).

I tried moving the switch and it doesn't appear to do anything.  It'd be great if I could find another chip that I know works around here, but that might be difficult.  My Xecuter 2 in installed using the wire method, so pulling that out will probably be more work than it's worth...

I got it from Divineo.  I'll see what I can do about getting a replacement because I'm still within their 60 day return for defective limit.
