Please Help With The Xenuim Chip

i just got a chip from my friend and he told me i had to put the recovery bin on the hd i installed the chip on my 1.6 and the chip just flashes red and the xbox just frags help help me

flip the switch on the chip after the recovery.bin has been ftped over to the E: partition and make sure the hdd is unlocked
