answers to questions...

1.) easy as long as you follow the manual
2.) you have to have you xbox and pc networked via a router and ethernet cord and flashing is easy you simply select the item off the xbox HDD
3) yes i did download the bios and dashboards off the internet

4. i have installed quite a few SPices for friends tho i  prefer solder but if you dont the SPice is very easy to use and i wish you the best of luck and if it doesnt work ill be glad to reply to the forum post

1. Its supposed to be but there are always people who have problems with it
2. Its easy, you just need a router or crossover cable
3. Yes, from usual places like "Xbins"..there is a guide on the tutorials section on
    how to access xbins
4. If you take your time its easy, if your to scare then  have a professional do it

If you are scared to do it and have never done a mod before, I'd suggest sending it out to be modded.  If you look on the installers board you should be able to find someone in your area to do the mod.  Plus, with a solderless install, you will probably have trouble alligning it if you have never done it before, and a professional will solder it in for good and probably set up your hd and even upgrade it so you won't have to do anything.

Really you shouldn't be scared of soldering...just practice with small things to get your precision down.

The hardest thing about modding an XBox is using common sense.

Remember things like
1) If it doesn't fit, DON'T JAM IT
2) If it doesn't work, don't throw it across the room
3) It's not a good idea to keep a hot soldering iron on the motherboard for more than 2 seconds
4) Don't grab the soldering iron by the tip...


Other than this, follow the directions and you'll be okay

Ok I got the chip today.,...Xbox is apart very easy... First problem No instructions came with the S.P.Ice chip The only ones Ive found online to this point are the 1.6 instructions my Xbox is apparently not a 1.6 because the clear plastic guide has no chip to go around...I am confused Is there a S.P.Ice guide? for xbox 1.4/1,5? and why didnt the chip come with instructions.....Help please

Thanks for that go it..... Having trouble with one more point as my luck would have it I think my Xbox is 1.5. I have the chip in and it turns green ok good....os booted up....good again....loaded the retail bios onto the chip booted it and it frags... Says i need to install another D0 if my xbox is 1.5 Ifound the wire having very hard time locating the second d0 I am using the noob manual but still cant see it......any help would be appreciated....

So.. xbox frags when you boot the retail kernel.. do you get an error # on screen?
