That's recovery mode. Flip the small switch on the chip so it's covering the black dot and try again

Alright, I got it working... now I just have to work on getting around a broken network card in the xbox...

What's the error number in the corner? It's most likely 05.. Lock your HDD from the xenium os and try again

(Disk Tools --> Lock HDD)

Sounds like you have a 1.0 if you're not getting an error number.. HDD should be on CS.. Is the drive a stock HDD? Or?

Well.. does it boot ok with your hacked bios? Ensure your dvd drive is plugged in and powered and that all cables are secure.. also, make sure your HDD is locked (to that xbox) and that is has the proper stock files on C:. (xboxdash.xbe, etc).

Alright apple, here is what I figured out. I formatted the drive without thinking. I don't have backups of the retail bios at all... but I know where to get them. I have the bin file, but I don't know what to do with it. Is that a CD bin file?

Also, I know I can just do everything easier using a slayers CD. I have a thompson drive so it is kinda hard to get it to boot up... I have tried rebooting like 10 times. I have never used the slayers disk, so I am still waiting to see what it is like. I am assuming I have to use the recovery mode to get it to boot from CD? I didn't see anything at all when I searched the forum and the tutorials.

What if I hook up a CD Rom to the drive using this tutorial? Would that be easier, and possible to boot into slayers?

The difficult thing is, the network port in the XBOX is shot, and I can't get it to work at all. I can't FTP into it to upload any files, so I have to do everything via CD or flashdrive.

Yes, using slayers is a good idea to rebuild your drive.. As too is using that tutorial to use a pc dvd drive.. and no, you don't use recovery mode. You just boot your hacked bios with slayers in and slayers will load.

Yeah, since you formatted your drive, it'll give you an error 16 b/c it can't find the dash.. If you put slayers in the drive tho, it should boot that and let you rebuild your drive. (You need slayers in the drive before you boot the bios

Try that PC drive trick and/or use another xbox dvd drive... Also, you can just FTP evox to C: from the xenium os to at leat get that booting, and then rebuild from there...
