Sadly it seems its not that simple?

I am no chip god  sad.gif  only have experience with softmods sad.gif

He has put the chip in, now I dont know 100% if he has done it right but he knows more than me about soldering and these kind of things  blink.gif  but it still throws an error 06?

And it doesnt seem to want to boot the slayer CD?

Erm, any ideas?

If it is just the stock HD, it would be easiest just to grab an old hard drive from somewhere, flash the chip with a nice bios, then format the new drive using slayers then use that. If the old HD is error 6ing without you locking it to a different xbox, then im pretty sure it is corrupted and unsavable..

Mabey you hotswapped correctly and your xbox just never re-locked the hard drive?  That would cause you to get an error 06.  No matter what, you need to relock the hard drive, thats why you are getting an error 06.
