^ ok i made the cable w/ the instructions you gave me and it still does not work. Also why do i have to change the ip to static and the number?

also i got into the properties and i have three connections: 1394 connection, local area connection , and local area connection 2.

there is no ip for the first one, the second one the ip is 192.168.0.1, and the third one the ip is 65.190.19.130    - and appearantly my commputer is using all three connections. I have cable internet( road runner)  There is no subnet mask for the first one, the second subnet mask is the one you gave me, and the third is 255.255.248.0


ok what is wrong, will some one please help me!!!!!!!

ok now it is doing the same thing as before, disconnecting or not getting a connection. the folders showed up and they were all empty what is wrong?

1394 connection?! Do you happen to have a mac? heh...

Anyways, disable "Show all/hidden files" And you should see the files in those folders.. (Or you can use SMB instead and not worry about it).
