The only time I saw that error was when I installed a dash that was too old for the xbox.  Copy over the dash from the original hd onto the new one or use slayers to rebuild.

As long as the chip works and you flashed the bios, just load a hacked bios and load slayers.

Did you overlook the section in the Ice Guide which tells you to set the clock in your MS dash before doing anything else?
