Why would you spend 30 bucks on a solderless adapter when the 4 dollar one works fine on a 1.1? Ease of installation is a matter of taste, I feel that soldering is easier than installing these adapter and having them stay put. If your 1.1 has solder in the lpc you will have a harder time installing it but it will still work, you may wanna consider removing that solder tho if you can't get a connection.
