Yes but it only works on xenium ices or other chips based on the same architecture, it will NOT work on xecuter chips.  Also be aware that the adapter will almost definitely come loose at some point.

Um ya, right.  Realistically the best way to install a chip is to solder it in or pay someone else to do it for you.  I'd use the $30 the adapter costs and use it toward someone installing it for you.  Most installers will flash the chip , set up the hd, and thro on some apps and stuff free and will show you exactly how to use it.  If you insist on doing it yourself and refuse to solder than the spice adapter with a xenium ice is your only choice on a 1.6.

it actually worked out cheaper for me to buy spice than to get someone to solder it, spice cost me £50 and paying people round my way costs £65, £5 of that is just to get into the building, so its not always the best investment to get people to do it for you but then again its only cos the £ is stringer than the dollar cos in dollars spice was about $100

Loose?  Probably not.  The adapter is designed to seat much more firmly onto the board, and the bus tap pins are firmly held in place by the plastic guide.  You'd have a hard time shaking one of these guys loose.

a lot of people don't have any installers local to them , and with shipping costs sometimes it is just way too much.

I dont believe anything you say at this point. You gave us false information about the adapter before , you will do it again.

Whenever I do an install for someone I always demo the xbox to them and explain how it all works and prove everything is in working order.  Thats just good business.

The only reason I never recommend solderless adapters is solely because of these boards.  Most ppl that buy adapters are ppl with no modding experience and therefore have problems installing them.  At least 95% of the problems with the adapters is user error and users not taking the time to research first.  Obviously groups wouldnt sell them if they didn't work and ppl wouldn't buy them if they didn't work, but when the majority of posts on these boards is "I installed a solderless adapter now it flashes red and green, what's wrong?" then there is obviously an issue.  I tried a spider chip once about a week ago because he already bought the chip and before he brought it to me the screw was already stripped, so thats the extent of my solderless experience hands on, I can only go by what I see other ppl do.  When HSDEMONZ says he has dozens of boxes with solderless chips that work perfect, that does not surprise me because he has a brain in his head.  Most ppl that buy these things try to install them, can't line it up in 5 minutes, then come here and sign up just to ask whats wrong.  Thats what bothers me.  Thats the jist of what these boards have come down to, ppl asking for help with a solderless adapter.  Hopefully once the next xbox comes out we will see more technical discussions, but until then all these boards are now is "why is my solderless chip fragging?".

i agree with the whole comfort level thing. I am confident in my technical abilities to set up the physical part of the xbox. buti  get lost on the bios and dashboard set up and how to flash the right way. Instead of doing and then figuring o ill ask about it if i mess up. i researchd and realized i can kill my xbox with the wrong bios so i decided to ship it to spyman from this site. i spoke to him about everything to get an understanding of what would be done. Just because you ship it to someone doesn't mean you shouldn't know what is being done.  Research then make the decision for solder, solderless, or shipping it.  Know whats going on with your xbox so you dont have to ask every pointless question. the tutorials and the other topics should help you out greatly.
