Xbox 1.0 Xenium Ice Problems
« on: February 15, 2005, 07:28:00 PM »

Ok, i am having the problem with my xenium ice where it starts and resets 3x then frags, all the while the xenium's light is red. I have personally soldered the chip in via the pin header install 2 times, and have had it professionally soldered in, but i keep getting that error. Also, i am using the wire loom, could this be the problem? I have heard that it may be the LPC ports, but as i said, i had the pin headers professionally soldered in. Help would be GREATLY appreciated, cause if it doesnt work, i just bought myself a paperweight, which sucks as a paperweight too, cause its only a few oz :(

Will the xbox boot with the chip unplugged? If it doesn't there could be solder splash or something else messed up with the board. If it doesn't make sure the d0 and all solder points are making good contact again.

Did you remove pin 4? IIRC there isn't even a hole on a 1.0 for pin 4 to go through. Are you sure the chip is on correctly? The port for the wire loom should be right beside a screw hole for the ground for the wire loom.

What happens when you set the Xenium switch to recovery mode?

Thank You all in advance

I am having a similar problem as Viper. I'm brand new to the scene. I opted to use the pin header install into my v1.0 with a new Xenium Ice mchip. I soldered it myself and rechecked it many times already with a magnifing glass, I'm confident with the solder job.
When I boot the box however I get green led 3x then fragging,
red and green while the chip is steady red, and no display. After reading up I understand it's probably the lpc joints.
Is there some troubleshooting guide specific in regard to my issue? One that might show using a multimeter.
At first I thought I fried the thing, however when I remove the chip, the xbox works normally. I think I have the Xenium oriented correctly. X is toward the back of the unit. :(

Mun
PS. When I set the chip to recovery mode I get the same result.
