M$ Dash Wont Boot
« on: January 30, 2005, 03:08:00 PM »

I've had my Ice for sometime now and i never EVER have my hd locked to go into the original kernal.

Now i want to proceed with a Live sign up as this xbox is virgin, but my problem is i wiped out my C drive with the slayers auto installer and installed the dash on C: after (Only the M$ dash that is). But now when i try to load the original kernal it gives me error 21.

Anyone have any idea why it would give me such a usless error code? If it was something else like dash not found or something it would be fine. But its error 21 and i have no idea why it would give me it.

Thank You to anyone who posts in return.

21 - anywhere - This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag

Umm make sure the m$ dash is names xboxdash.xbe

How come I should format E too? Isint C where the dash is?

I am about to try, but just wanted to know why formating E:\ will help.

I've allready formated C:\ like three times, now I am going to try to do both now.

Thanks

Okay, i just tried to do that. Format C and E and it still gives me ERROR 21. Where on "The Usual Place" can i find the M$ dashboard? Maybe i can revert back to an older version and have live update me. I looked in Xbox/Aps/Dashes but there is no list for M$ or "original".

Thank You

Just pop in a live enabled game and try to access live; it'll replace/update your M$ dash smile.gif

You can't boot games either? (You can update the M$ dash from a hacked bios too using the live game method I posted above.. Just be sure to unplug your network cable if you do so you don't get banned wink.gif)
