Does it really matter? All a chip needs to do is boot a hacked bios. Anything is else gravy on your taters if you want it. Pick a chip that does what you want it to and stop being a kid.

the last good xecuter chip was the x2.3b lite. the x2.6 out of 200 chips 40 of them I had were faulty. Sending them for exchange etc is not fun, and I lost on shipping both ways each time. with the x3 I only had 1 faulty one where the flashrom was fkd, but thats 1 out of 80, so not bad.

Check out the xecuter website forums, so many people always having problems.
Maybe if they start making quality chips like the x2.3b lite again no one would have problems with faulty switches , faulty wires or corupted flashroms.

Made the switch to xenium ice and couldnt be happier. the os is actually user friendly and well done. not like the x3 which is all over the place and takes me forever to explain to my customers what everything does, and in the end have him tell me he will never bother with the x3 os menu.

i will start carrying the xecuters later on if theyve fix their shit with the ce edition chips, but i think ill wait a while before I do. Also I will still continue to carry the xenium ice , because its one sick chip. Can change the leds of the actual chip and front panel, through software. blue/red/green/teal/purple/white.
this is the stuff my customers love. in addition the usb adapter is just cool

everyone that has tried the xenium ice can appreciate it, if youve not tried it youve probably just bought into the xecuter hype, they are good at marketing.

I've used both types of chips, and to be honest, for most of the people I hve modded for, they couldn't give a damn. As long as the modchip runs a hacked BIOS they're happy.

Team Xenium are sometimes ridicolous and "arrogant", but I think it is done tounge in cheek.
Nothing wrong with Team Xecuter, in my opinion, but their user base seems to be bitter and angry, for no good reason.

I personally like the new solderless adaptor, it looks like it makes things alot easier for people who may aswel pour hot solder over their mother boards when installing a chip.
(yea, a little sarcasm, but i like the adaptor)

As for you mister topic starter, you are foolish and childish.
TeamXecuter and TeamXodus are both good competitors. I've never had an Xecuter chip, but the Xenium is great.

Please allow me to put in my 2 cents:

From a business standpoint, Team Xecuter is clearly the leader insofar as operating funds/capital user base, and name recognition.
Team Xodus, as the no.1 competitor to Xecuter, will probably not beat them at their own game, playing by Xecuters "rules".
That seems to be the reason for Xodus' unique approach to marketing and hyping up the Xenium chip (which I absolutlely LOVE)
When you are the no.2 slot in a very specialized market (and I stress a very solid and strong no.2 slot) you need to be creative and bold and break the mold of simply anouncing features and offerinag a release date.
Xodus has been extremely candid and light hearted bringing us the 12 long days of Xmas and with all their competitions and giveaways, have certainly stood out from the rest and have made their mark that they are not simply an "ordinary modchip dev team" IMHO.

Its seems that when the whole 12 DAYS OF XMAS kicked off, Team Xecuter was the first to start slagging off Team Xodus with comments like "sorry we have no witty Christmas anecdotes" and "we'll bring you quality products not useless hype."
And of course Xecuters bold statement about "mind numbingly slow display screens" when the first Scryer demo video was released. Xodus also poked a little fun at Xecuter ("no we weren;t getting drunk or running into this celebrity or that...") but never bashed their hardware directly.

the whole point of my rant here is that while both teams are brilliant developers and designers (not to mention marketing gurus) Xecuter is the in no.1 spot right now (even if the the Xenium is a better chip IMO) and being no.1, there's no reason to preemptivly bash their competitions marketing strategy and haradware announcement just for the sake of boosting their egos. when you're on top, why step all over those trying to do something fun and a little different?

the user base is the ultimate desicion maker in which team comes out on top, and while Xecuter makes phenominal products, their attitude towards their competition and passive aggressive marketing will always make me recoomend the Xenium over anything else.

with everything said and done (and it has already been said in this thread before) i must stress again that competion is absolutely essential to the scene and without either Xodus and Xecuter trying their hardest to make the best quality products available, we wouldn't have amazing toys like the XLCD, the Scryer or the crystal control panel (mad props to Xecuter fot this one!).

Spider chip doesnt count. Its not a SOLDERLESS ADAPTER, its a chip, with few features, and less memory. But yes, that was innovative well, and not from Team Xecuter.
