Can you get any pictures? The xbox 1.6 is kernal version 5838, not 5308 so you might be on to something here (I think - someone correct me if i am wrong)

I've dealt with newer and uh this is a simple case of lacquer being extremely caked over the traces. You have to use an exacto knife and scrape down until you can get6 to something solder can bind to....

You're welcome to take some pics, but you have a standard 1.6/1.6B... Remember: most of the pics for LPC rebuilds are showing the bottom of the board...
