1.6 Tries To Boot 3times And Then Frags

Do you get a red light on the Xenium get you turn on your xbox? Does it boot up ok when you remove the chip?

I am getting the same problem, but after many month of it working.  XBox was not moved/bumped or otherwise.  It just quit working today...  Any ideas?

Hmm, that doesn't sound a very good sign, did you check with your multimeter for shorts on the pin header or solder splash on the pins/mb ?

it might be a very good chance you've might have a corrupted bios, or a broken trace on the motherboard. If you have a magnifying glass , look at the traces closely for possible broken traces or solder bridge  / splashes.

Now I use the LFRAME on the bottom and connect this to the upper d0 of the chip.
All my joints I retinned using some flux. However i'm not using 30AWG but some wire I always use on my Xbox'es to mod. Never had trouble before (on 1.4 nor 1.2)

I desoldered everything but the pinheader, cleand all up with alcohol...

still system boots 3 times and flashes Red/Orange
looks like the dvd drive wants to boot also and then stops...

I'm running out of possibilities here...

So many people have this type of problem and there seem to be a lot of different causes.  When I had the problem the fix was as easy as switching it into recovery mode (which magically allowed there to be video) and putting on a newer version of the xenium OS.  I've herd that with 1.6's you may have a video problem so the fix was to burn a copy of the new xenium OS and a dummy file onto a CD-RW or what ever media your xbox reads well.  Switch the xenium into recovery mode, place the cd into your xbox, power it on and hope to see the leds flash red and orange and then power down, then switch it back into normal operating mode and try to boot up the xenium OS using the eject button and walla, you got picture.  

No promises this will fix your prob.  a lot of times it's a solder problem, or trace, or solder splash, good luck though.

I fixed it.  Burned recovery cd onto phillips CD-R. Tried to boot, put in cd, turned off. Switched xenium into recovery mode, turned on with power button.  Let it run until it shut itself off (about 2 minutes).  Flipped switch back to normal mode and it booted right up to xenium os.

Download the recovery cd from thier downloads section.
Xbox is a 1.6

Funny thing is, I got it working just fine, unplugged it to move it to my main tv.  It sat there for 2 days not plugged in.  Now I can get to the xenium OS, but cannot boot to evox.  it just looses video.  Is this the "not setting the clock in MS Dash" problem?  How do I fix it?

if you can get the xenium OS up then just flash the tsop and boot the retail kernal and it should ask you to set the clock.
